What we collect when you use this website, why we collect it, and what we will and will not do with it.

Who is responsible for your information
This website is operated by the Kano State Information Technology Development Agency (KASITDA), an agency of the Kano State Government. KASITDA is the data controller for personal information submitted through this site. Enquiries about this policy should go to info@kasitda.kn.gov.ng or (234) 903 322 2444.
What we collect
We only collect information you deliberately give us. Specifically:
- Programme registration — your name, email address, local government area, and the programme you are interested in.
- Programme applications — the answers you give on the application form for that programme, which always include your name, email address and phone number. Each programme's form shows you exactly what it asks before you submit, and there is a review step so you can check and correct every answer.
- Details about a child, where a programme is for children — for the Kano Digital Kids Bootcamp, the child's name, age and school, and anything you tell us we should arrange so they can take part, which may include a disability or a health condition. A parent or guardian applies, and we hold these details on the basis of the consent you give on the form. You can withdraw that consent at any time by writing to us, and we will delete the application.
- Contact and feedback forms — your name, email address, postal address where you provide one, and the content of your message.
- Newsletter — your email address only.
- Server logs — standard technical records such as the pages requested and the time of the request, kept for security monitoring and to measure how the site is used.
We do not ask for bank details, payment card numbers, or National Identification Numbers anywhere on this website. KASITDA will never request payment in exchange for a place on a training programme. If you receive such a request claiming to come from us, please report it using our feedback form.
How your information is used
Information you submit is used for the purpose you submitted it for, and for nothing else. That means:
- Contacting you about the programme you registered interest in, and about later editions of it.
- Answering your enquiry, complaint or feedback.
- Sending the newsletter, if you subscribed to it.
- Producing anonymous statistics — how many people applied, from which local governments — to plan services and report on the Kano State Digital Transformation Agenda 2025–2030. These statistics never identify individuals.
When your information may be disclosed to a third party
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. It may be disclosed outside KASITDA only in these circumstances:
- To delivery partners where a programme is run jointly — for example an innovation hub hosting a bootcamp you registered for. Partners receive only what they need to enrol you, and may not reuse it for anything else.
- To service providers who operate systems on our behalf, under contract and only for that purpose. Where we engage one to receive or store submissions from this website, this policy will name it before that happens.
- Where the law requires it — in response to a court order, a lawful request from a regulatory authority, or an obligation under Nigerian law.
Whether your information is publicly accessible
No. Nothing you submit through this website is published or made publicly accessible. Feedback and complaints are read only by the officers responsible for handling them. Where we publish anything drawn from submissions — such as participation figures — it is aggregated and anonymous.
How your information is protected
The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and submissions are transmitted encrypted. Access to submitted information is limited to the officers who need it to do their work. This website and its data are hosted in Nigeria.
How long we keep it
Programme registrations are kept for the duration of the programme cycle and for up to two years afterwards so we can tell you about the next edition. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Feedback and complaints are kept for two years. Server logs are kept for twelve months.
Programme applications are kept for two years after the programme ends, so that we can answer a question about a place we offered or refused, and then deleted. Where an application contains details about a child, you may ask us to delete it sooner and we will do so — a place already taken up does not change that. Contact enquiries are kept for two years.
Who can see it
Applications and messages are read only by KASITDA officers who need them to do their work, through an account issued to them by name. We keep a record of who looked at an application and when, and of every decision made on one. If you want to know who has seen an application about your child, ask us and we will tell you.
Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it, or stop using it for a particular purpose. You may also withdraw consent to marketing at any time by writing to the address below, and we will confirm when you have been removed.
To exercise any of these rights, write to info@kasitda.kn.gov.ng with enough detail for us to identify your records. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. If we later introduce analytics to understand how the site is used, this policy will be updated before that happens and the change noted below.
